Presentation of the role
There is a separately employed Managing Director who reports directly to the Board and is the organization’s external face. The Managing Director is professionally responsible for the NGO. The roles of Managing Director and Director of Operations are internally equal.

Organizational placement
The Director of Operations reports directly to the Board and works closely with the acting Chairman.
Areas of responsibility
- Overall administrative and operational management of the organization
- Strategic, tactical, and operational organizational development and operation
- Is the HR function, leading and participating in various internal committees and negotiations, including salary agreements and recruitment
- Overall responsibility for ensuring that statutes, decisions, and obligations are followed up within the administration department's business area: finance, IT and HR
- Overall responsibility for the organization’s finances, including fundraising, financial management, budgets, and forecasts. The organization has its own finance manager who reports to this role
- Contribute to the further development of a culture where continuous competence development and improvement of work processes and project management, project management and project finance are the focus
- Overall responsible for IT strategies and system development
- Overall responsibility for planning and implementing the annual calendar for the general operation of the organization in accordance with public requirements and internal expectations and processes initiated by the board
Qualifications
- Higher relevant education
- Well documented leadership skills, minimum of 5 years
- Strong financial competence and experience
- Broad experience from leading various projects and their financing
- Experience in leading development and change processes with employees
- You can think strategically now and for the future
- You are a unifying and motivating leader who creates trust, a good working environment, development and job satisfaction in your employees and colleagues
- You are innovative and solution-oriented
- You are development-oriented and at the same time have an operational perspective
- You take initiative, have implementation skills and the ability to delegate
- You have good communication and collaboration skills
- You have a good understanding of roles and can lead both middle managers, subject specialists, and employees

Languages
Good English and Norwegian, spoken, and written. English is the working language at the NGO
