We are now looking for a Data Lead to join our growing team and hope that you would like to join us!

House of Math is a technology scale-up with headquarters in Oslo where we organize our work in interdisciplinary teams as personalization, data & gamification, monetization, learning activities and more. The basis for our data today is hundreds of thousands of students using the portal www.houseofmath.com by doing dynamic activities, playing mathematical games, following math courses and interact with our tutors.

With all this data, we are now excited to hire a Data Lead who will have the responsibility of creating and executing a data strategy who creates value for the company and our users across the globe.

We are now working with creating what we call a personal learning path for users. By utilizing the data available we aim to optimize each person’s learning experience and engage the usage of the site. We believe that a personal learning path will increase user retention and learning outcome for everyone.

As Head of Data you will have the responsibility of:

• Take the lead building and developing our data strategy and ensure that we have the required competencies to achieve our goals.
• Design the architecture and implement the solution for the personal learning path
• Take responsibility for quality assurance of our web analytics and present these in a meaningful and visually optimized way through dashboards and more.
• Take responsibility for creating the foundation for House of Math’s learning path and consolidate our data resources.
• Work closely with our product- and tech teams and define goals together with teams that are in line with the company’s strategy.
• Implement, manage, and maintain the cloud infrastructure to collect and transform of our data into useful insights and product outcome our users will benefit from.
• Envision the potential of the portal and creatively examine all the possibilities available.

As our new Head of Data first and foremost, you have a passion for technology. This is a new role, and you will be essential to the future success of the company as we now need a driving force with overall responsibilities for our data.

Ideally you have some leadership experience, or the attributes to make you a good team leader. You are hands on and thrive when given the opportunity to be creative and you are someone who love to drive products and projects forward. You are team oriented and have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure and experience with SQL and / or ELT. An added benefit would be if you have some experience from BI or similar tools, web analytics and machine learning as well as interest in AI.
