Launching data-driven solutions in a fast growing market for renewable energy

As the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for identifying and securing revenue opportunities for the New Energy Solutions (NES) offshore wind business in the Nordic region. This includes sales of existing digital solutions (the Wind AXIOM platform), ground condition/subsurface data solutions, plus wind and metocean data campaigns in addition to new product and business opportunities to be developed.

The main duties will be to support the business unit through enlarging existing core areas or identifying high-potential new areas, leading to data collection and survey campaigns (wind assessment and geotechnical) for offshore wind needs. The key objective in such projects is to secure customer commitment. Follow through on projects will be required including identifying additional products or derivatives to be performed by internal service providers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Set and deliver on sales targets
    o focus on growing subscription revenue for the Wind AXIOM platform
    o focus on securing new clients and funding for data collection and survey campaigns
  • Execute the development, strategic positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning project proposals and presentations
  • Drive and manage business and organic product development to generate project opportunities, increased sales, and provide on time and cost-effective delivery of solutions for selected NES segments and customer categories
  • Review project proposals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, competitiveness, and customer-oriented solutions
  • Be proactive in identifying potential business with new offshore wind developers
  • Contribute to developing the NES offshore wind product suite, as well as partnership, and acquisition and investment opportunities
  • Establish and manage long-term relationship with stakeholders
  • Structure and negotiate partnerships that broadens the TGS value propositions
  • Cooperation with internal stakeholders:
    o Sales and Project Development resources to identify new project ideas
    o Marketing and NES management to formulate and implement marketing and sales strategies
    o Coordinate the development interface with project management and operations teams

Ideal Candidate

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, computer /data science or related fields
  • Experience in Client Relationship Management
  • Strong track record of identifying and closing sales opportunities
  • Previous working experience on a commercial side of offshore wind industry, or related industries, and a relevant network within the offshore wind community is an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outstanding communications and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English; Nordic languages a plus
  • Able to multi-task and succeed in coordinating across multiple departments
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter, problem-solver and adaptable in dealing with people
