Are you ready to join us at Team Norse as our new Group Accounting Manager, where you will have the unique opportunity to design and develop Norse’s accounting processes and systems - and more importantly - the accounting team in a manner that fits well with the Norse’s vision and values? As Group Accounting Manager of a unique and futuristic airline, you will play a key role in ensuring that Norse’s accounting systems, processes and procedures are ‘built for the future’, aiming at maximum automation and efficiency in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting. You will take ownership in running the accounting team on a day-to-day basis and take the lead in consolidation of group monthly, quarterly and annual financials, among other things.

Joining Norse at this early phase means you will be heavily involved in the shaping of Norse Atlantic`s beginning and as Norse grows and evolves, you can expect to have the opportunity to get involved in different tasks, including more responsibility and promotion opportunities. 

The position will report to the VP Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hands-on monthly group consolidation and ensure that all accounting transactions comply with IFRS and other local regulations as applicable
  • Ensuring timely and correct reporting of monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports for the Group, including Norwegian and overseas subsidiaries and branches
  • Responsible for internal monthly financial reporting
  • Coach, mentor and develop a strong accounting team, where each team member is encouraged to take ownership of their own assigned areas
  • Management of key functions within Finance team, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Revenue Accounting
  • Involvement in working capital management and forecasting
  • Take lead in improving the company’s ERP system capabilities – automation being the main theme
  • A key role within the organization in managing costs and being involved in embedding the cost focus within the company culture
  • Key contact with external auditors
  • Set up accounting function in new countries that Norse operate in and ongoing coordinating with finance & accounting resources
  • Active involvement in developing and improving financial routines, controls and procedures
  • Tirelessly work on modernizing the financial reporting tools to reduce the manual work and improve reporting timelines
  • Be the super user for the Company’s ERP, Microsoft D365

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5-yrs experience in a similar position and/or financial audit experience
  • Chartered Accountant, CPA, State Registered Auditor or equivalent
  • An advantage – but not a requirement – if experienced from a similar position for an airline
  • Knowledge of IFRS and practical experience in applying the standards in multinational group consolidations
  • Experience in implementing and developing ERP systems and related reporting tools
  • A problem solver, creative, pragmatic, ambitious, and must be an outstanding team player
