Hands-on HR Director to LEMAN Sweden, Norway, and Finland

 

This is a great opportunity to join a long-established Freight forwarding, Warehousing & Logistics business with 120 employees across our three Nordic countries: Norway (50), Sweden (35), and Finland (35). You will be a member of LEMAN Management in the three Nordic countries and the  Global HR team and have sole responsibility for HR working closely with management.

 

The business is growing and undergoing a period of change and needs a strong HR leader to cement new management teams, support change initiatives, drive leadership behaviours and programmes and improve engagement and employee retention in the business.

 

What your job is about

You will deliver both operational and strategic business tasks in equal parts and ensure hands-on support to the business on organisational- and leadership development, ensure compliance on labour laws matters and drive operational and administrative excellence across the countries.

 

In addition, you will be a key player in the global HR team across 7 countries (in total app 800 employees globally) and contribute to the development and implementation of global HR standards, processes, programmes, and tools.

 

This is a progressive role and would suit an experienced HR manager who has previous experience working in a global organisation - preferably from the Logistics and Transportation sector. Your aspirations should be to grow with the business and support future business development and growth. You will be reporting to the CEO of either Norway or Sweden, dependant on which of the two countries you are resident, and have a dotted line to the CHRO, located at HQ in Denmark.

 

Your key responsibilities

You support the management teams in all aspects of the HR Annual Wheel and ensure the planning and execution of the overall People Life Cycle processes from recruitment to offboarding. You are the main driver of HR tasks/initiatives in Norway, Sweden and Finland and collaborate closely with the CHRO and Global HRD Team on joint global HR initiatives. More specifically, you:

·      Drive the HR agenda at management meetings in the three Nordic countries, ensuring full commitment to and alignment of agreed activities

·      Act as a proactive member of the global HR team and participate in virtual and physical global HR meetings

·      Ensure recruitment, preboarding, onboarding and offboarding in alignment with global and local standards

·      Develop/implement local and corporate HR policies/development activities while ensuring sharing of best HR practices with peers globally

·      Develop and deliver employee training and leadership programmes - identify and fill competency gaps in alignment with management

·      Drive People Engagement survey and plans and follow up on results, ensuring high commitment, employee retention and job satisfaction at all levels in the organisation

·      Drive Performance Management, ensuring clear objectives and individual development plans. Follow up on employee performance and behavior and ensure competency development where needed

·      Manage Talent Reviews and Succession Planning, ensuring a strong talent and succession pipeline across the three countries

·      Ensure Organizational Development and Team Development, including relevant input to the business plan in the countries

·      Drive cultural changes and act as a change agent and sparring partner to management and employees

·      Manage legal, employee relations, retention, and performance issues. Ensure proper and on time administration, documentation, and compliance on all HR matters  

·      Handle People data and reporting/analytics and salary review. Act on HR data trends.

·      Oversight of and reporting to local management and Group H&S on Health & Safety matters, ensuring compliance to local and global standards. Ensure a sound and healthy work environment. You are a member of the H&S committee in the three countries.

Qualifications

·      MSc degree in Human Resources Management or similar

·      Minimum 5 years’ experience as Nordic HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner in a global organization, strong experience at both strategic and operational level

·      Certified in relevant Recruitment, Coaching, Assessment and Development tools

·      Experienced in organizational development - defining and implementing development initiatives based on our business strategy and values

·      Strong experience and knowledge of labor/employment laws and practices/legal aspects, union agreements/negotiation and H&S regulation in Norway, Sweden, and Finland

·      Experienced user of MS Office, masters Powerpoint, Excel and Teams and has experience working with HRIS systems (we use Cornerstone on Demand)

·      Project management experienced

·      You have great communication skills, written and oral and are proficient in English.

 

The position will be based in either Drammen/Vestby (Norway) or Helsingborg (Sweden), and you will travel 2-4 times per month to other sites in Sweden (Gothenburg, Stockholm), Norway (Stavanger) and Finland (Vantaa, Turku, Kotka). You can expect travels to DK/other LEMAN sites 1-2 times per year.
