Head of Platform & Operations

We're looking for a seasoned Head of Platforms & Operations to look after our growing technology portfolio in Sbanken.

This team interacts with a broad array of internal business areas, third party products and external partners to deliver a common, scalable, and secure infrastructure and platform to run applications and services powering the entire company. 

Managing this team requires a comprehensive understanding of a wide range of technologies, a focus on growing and developing the skills and talents of your teams, and a relentless drive to focus on high-value projects and to prioritize ruthlessly. 

This is an opportunity to transform the foundation at Sbanken, and work with a highly diverse set of technology requirements from hybrid infrastructure to low latency computing.

In addition to the domain responsibilities, you will be part of our Technology Management team and report directly to our CTO. It is expected that you take a broader responsibility outside your area of direct responsibility and be part of the team that is building a modern and digital bank. 

Head of Operations & Platforms manages multiple teams of infrastructure and platform engineers 

• Manage multiple engineers working with various infrastructure service's including compute infrastructure, workspace applications (M365), client distribution, office infrastructure, diverse storage environments and data center operations 
• Understand technical architectures, capacity plans, tooling needs, automation plans and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical enhancements 
• Work closely with engineering, security and core teams to plan and execute against a broad array of business and product needs 
• Drive efficiency while leveraging automation and innovation to scale and to support Sbanken’s needs 
• Deliver highly resilient, globally distributed cloud infrastructure (Azure Cloud), including compute, storage, data center and availability 
• Capacity planning & forecasting 
• Managing budget 
• Asset Lifecycle Management/Depreciation 
• Help engineers develop their careers, assigning them to initiatives tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles 
• Balance the need to “keep things running” with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects 
• Assess employee performance frequently, recognize and promote excellent performance

Job qualifications 

• Higher education (bachelor/master) within IT/Technology, but we are really looking for the right person with the right mindset and competencies, so don't let this stop you from applying. 
• At least 5 years' experience from IT/Technology management 
• Relevant experience with agile methods and?devops-methodologies 
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud migrations from on-prem operations 
• Excellent oral and written skills in English 
• Must understand Norwegian, or be committed to learn within a year
