Compact Carbon Capture develops a rotating bed technology that is a novel process intensification utilizing centrifugal acceleration to intensify mass transfer. In principle, it can be applied to any solvent based post-combustion site of emission.

As a Lead mechanical engineer for Compact Carbon Capture you will be work closely with other engineering experts in a multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for mechanical engineering design for the novel absorber and desorber, and also participate in all other process items needed to develop the technology.
As a Lead mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Design and engineering of rotating process equipment
- Following up on manufacture and assembly (both prototypes and larger rotating process equipment)
- Reporting and document analyses, calculations and tests
- Analytical and functional calculations of rotating process equipment (for heat and mass transfer)
- Construction and FEM analysis
- Design and verification of prototypes and test units
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Experience with R&D projects (from idea to product)
- Have experience in Design verification of rotating process units
- Have competence on fluid dynamics, including CFD analysis
- Material selection of equipment
- Have 2D design experience
- Have 3D design experience
- Have Good theoretical understanding concerning statics and steel constructions
- Finite Element method (FEM)
- Practical knowledge concerning PED (Pressure Equipment Directive), and industry standards, rules and regulations
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
- Be Flexible in working from Norway for extended periods of time
