Director Innovation, Business Development and Analysis Section

NORCAP, part of the Norwegian Refugee Council, solves challenges in the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors in order to better protect vulnerable people's lives and rights. We build partnerships, promote more effective ways of working and provide skilled experts to develop capacity. Since 1991 NORCAP has provided expertise to approximately 10,000 missions across the globe.

We work with and through our partners to address challenges via three core activities:

  • We develop partnerships with regional and global organisations and national stakeholders. We believe working together in a coordinated and sustainable manner is the best way to reduce needs, risks and vulnerability over time.
  • We seek and promote more effective ways of working at the global level and in the field. Our aim is not only to reduce needs, but also to create choice and opportunity for vulnerable people.
  • We deploy skilled experts to develop our partner's capacity. Given their independence from agendas and interests of the organisations they are deployed to, our experts are well placed to identify and address challenges, improve collaboration and encourage new and innovative approaches.

In order to deliver even more effectively on our core activities, NORCAP has just gone through a major restructuring process. One of the outcomes is the establishment of the Innovation, Business Development and Analysis Section. The section's main responsibilities include:

  • developing strategic partnerships and to ensure business development of selected areas outlined in NORCAP's strategy
  • develop internal know-how and methodologies to ensure effective project implementation across the department
  • identify business trends for innovation and development in collaboration with the two operative sections
  • initiate and implement projects, often in collaboration with strategic partners
  • developing an overall fundraising strategy for NORCAP and to provide fundraising and policy analysis
  • in close collaboration with the communications team, coordinate and support of cross-sectional advocacy

You are an ambitious professional with the ability to see how NORCAP can realise untapped potential in the system to the benefit of people in need.

Om arbeidsgiveren

NORCAP is a global provider of expertise to the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors. We build partnerships with international organisations and national actors to protect lives, rights and livelihoods.
In today's world, conflict and insecurity combined with climate change, disasters and state fragility create complex crises with massive humanitarian consequences. Weak capacity and lack of coordination prevent international and national actors from addressing these problems consistently and effectively.

There is often a shortage of personnel with the right experience and skills, who can implement projects, provide technical expertise, develop unbiased analysis and coordinate assistance. To move forward, international and national stakeholders need to have the capacity to perform functions, solve problems, and achieve objectives.

NORCAP provides expert personnel and collaborates with international organisations and national partners to identify capacity needs and to establish common goals and projects.
