Claxton Engineering are looking to source a Project Engineer

Across a vast array of drilling riser systems, well abandonment equipment and structures, Claxton delivers pragmatic, safe reliable solutions to the operating challenges faced by our clients. Claxton are currently looking to hire a Project Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Based in Stavanger, the Project Engineer will undertake a variety of projects and will coordinate technical, commercial, administrative, and quality aspects of the assigned projects.

Duties

•Fulfilment of Project Management duties in respect of assigned projects in a pro-active manner, including regular interface with all stakeholders – clients, certifying authorities, colleagues, and contractors as necessary.

•Clarifying scope and estimates with sales team during project handovers, revising as necessary and when accepted including costing sheets, controlling/monitoring costs, and revenues during project to achieve target profitability of projects.

•Preparation of comprehensive programmes of work and equipment lists for assigned projects

•Responsible for delivery of the products and services to clients on time, on quality and on cost for allocated projects

•Liaison with Claxton sales team to identify and respond to sales opportunities, assisting where required with preparation of bids and quotations for potential projects

•Preparation of variation requests for ongoing active projects

•Control and management of all commercial and technical aspects of assigned projects

•Preparation of documentation for workshop activities to ensure all equipment and tooling is assembled / prepared to meet the scope of supply and time demands of the project, detailing all consumables / parts required such that Onshore Operations ensure these are available in sufficient time.

•Selection of the correct tools/equipment to fulfil operational requirements with the assistance of the Product Leaders, Engineering, Technical Director, and Line Managers as required.

•Completion of all database / project process / technical reports / costing sheets / minutes of meeting documentation as per Company’s IMS procedures

•Liaison with the Design department and Product Leaders to ensure all engineering calculations are carried out to verify the suitability of procedures and equipment proposed to be used

•Monitoring/managing project performance and highlighting problem areas in good time 

•Ensure all QA/ HSE and personnel issues considered relevant to each project are fulfilled and completed

•Attendance to client meetings regarding project progress and any DWOPs or other kick off meetings

•Possible offshore trips to supervise and assure project execution and fulfilment, where contractually obliged.

•Be responsible for out of hour’s calls on an as and when required’ basis on call rota system

•Any other relevant work/projects as may be assigned by the Management team from time to time

Requirements

•Degree educated or relevant experience.

•Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point and MS project.

•Adequate knowledge of budgets, schedules, quality, and deadlines. 

•Adequate knowledge of Health and Safety, Safe Systems of Work and legal regulations. 

•Demonstrable experience in project management principles, practices and ISO9001 procedures.

•Oil & gas industry experience commensurate with the job requirements, including managing / supervising projects / personnel both onshore and offshore.

•Good experience and knowledge of the drilling process and environment, jack up rig experience preferred.

•Experience producing equipment lists and technical programs of work.

•Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail.

•The ability to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse audiences.

•Good interpersonal skills for liaising with both colleagues and clients.
