Head of People & Culture - Hurtigruten Norway

As Head of People & Culture in Hurtigruten Norway, you step onboard a brand with more than a 100 years of legacy and a unique footprint in the Norwegian coastal culture.

Hurtigruten Norway (part of Hurtigruten Group) - the original since 1893. Offering a unique combination of local travelers, goods and international tourists since the very first departure almost 130 years ago. Connecting 34 communities along Norway’s rugged coastline, Hurtigruten Norway’s 7 coastal express ships takes you closer to nature and the local communities – in what is referred to as “the most beautiful voyage in the world."

In this role you will assume the responsibility for tailoring the delivery of our People & Culture processes to the company. The work will be varied and challenging. You will be an important component in Hurtigruten Norway’s success and growth.

You will be an integrated part of the Hurtigruten Norway management team and advising and sparring with senior leaders will be a vital component of your role. You will establish excellent relations both onboard our ships and on land. As an important member of the Group People & Organization leadership team, you will be accountable for ensuring that global processes and tools are implemented and adds value in the company.

The role requires a strong track record in supporting the business and their senior leaders with organizational development competencies and People advisory. It is vital to have an in depth understanding of Norwegian People practices/Unions and how to best apply them to a diverse workforce. Experience of succeeding in an organization with a mixed workforce, where both seafarers and land-based employees together deliver value every day, is seen as an advantage.

The is a vital role for the business and will report directly to the VP of Group People & Organization (CHRO) with dotted line to the CEO of Hurtigruten Norway.

Duties and responsibilities

• Deliver and improve People advisory services in Hurtigruten Norway
• Be a key component in developing, anchoring and implementing Hurtigruten Norway’s culture initiatives
• Establish an excellent working relationship with key stakeholders and unions making sure that the Hurtigruten Norway’s employer brand and employee experience is second to none.                 
• Take an active part in developing global people processes and tools, ensuring a balance between global requirements and applicability and value add for the company
• Be an active and supporting team member in the Group People & Organization Leadership team.         

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor degree within related fields
• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience with gradually increased responsibility as an HRBP in a recognized brand
• Strong knowledge of Norwegian labor law and practices and how to best apply them
• Strong experience from working with change processes
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives and agile ways of working is seen as an advantage
• Fluent in Norwegian and English, spoken and written
