Our new Supply Chain Manager (SCM) will manage the overall supply chain and logistics operations for the group. The SCM will be part of the of and lead the global Supply Chain team. The team will manage and monitor vendors´ qualification and performance to ensure they meet our company’s requirements. The team will be responsible for the plan, source, manufacturing, delivery, logistics and return system.
At GSM, an international company, dialogue and follow-up with our subsidiaries, clients and suppliers internationally is a major part of the role.
The company has a lot of activity and flexibility is required in the team to contribute professionally to various areas, but the main tasks will be:
Tasks:
· Oversee the purchasing, shipping, logistics, receiving and material handling in the organization
· Ensure that all transactions are kept current, recorded accurately, and processed efficiently
· Responsible for inventory accuracy and turns
· Ensures that every step of the procurement and material management processes are functioning effectively to avoid costly delays and lost sales opportunities.
· Identifies primary and alternate sources and encourages suppliers to remain competitive to achieve best value, quality, and lead time
· Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors
· Monitors significant trends, changes in suppliers and prices to capitalize on opportunities
· Contacts carriers to negotiate contracts/pricing, troubleshoot problems and coordinate shipments
· Selects suppliers and works with the quality manager to qualify and measure performance in areas of quality, time, technical support & ease of doing business
· Negotiates terms to obtain necessary material and products in a timely and most cost-effective manner
· Responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and maintaining relationships with freight forwarders and coordinating their process
· The SCM is the main point of communication for the customer, ensuring timely and accurate feed back is given to the customer.
· The SCM is responsible for the project from production to delivery
· Ensure all tasks are performed with the highest regard for safety and quality as outlined in GSMs QMS
· Project manage the delivery of material in projects
· Support on supply chain related tasks in the subsidiaries
· Improve and structure processes and procedures internally.
Qualifications:
· Supply Chain management
· Project management skills
· Proficiency in word, excel and PowerPoint
· Basic cost accounting
· Understanding of legal/ customs documents
· Relevant service/product knowledge
· Document management skills
· Good English skills at business level
· Good collaboration and business ethics
· Ability to work under pressure and challenging deadlines
· Reporting and Managing preparations
· Excellent time management
· Knowledge of Quality management systems
