CMI søker ny direktør

Director, CMI
We are looking for a leader who can support and develop leadership at all organizational levels, one who can build a holistic organization with collaboration between different disciplines and who has a clear vision for CMI.

The director should be visible to the public and represent CMI in a credible way in dialogue with external partners. The director is responsible for leading and strategically developing CMI and associated funds and shall, in collaboration with the board and the management team, develop and implement CMI's strategy. As CMI Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that CMI develops further as a leading provider of high-quality development research relevant to policy and practice, both nationally and internationally. The new director is expected to work proactively in secure funding for the institute, this requires good abilities to navigate the Norwegian political landscape.


Key areas of work and responsibilities:

• Formal and legal responsibility for CMI, CMF, Nationalgaven and DNB Jubileumsfond
• The director is responsible for preparing and following up matters to the boards (CMI and CMF board)
• The director has the overall personnel responsibility for all employees at CMI, as well as responsibility for a healthy and safe working environment
• Ensure good communication and media management
• Ensure development and implementation of overall strategy, and ensure that the CMI is organized in an appropriate manner
• Take the initiative and support work with organizational development
• The director shall facilitate management development at all levels in the organization and develop framework conditions for operations in collaboration with the management team
• Create good collaborative relationships with key, external actors. Including research policy work

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Relevant higher education, preferably at doctoral level
• Research experience from one of the research areas at CMI is desirable
• Fluent in a Scandinavian language and English
• Leadership experience and leadership qualities, preferably experience from research management
• Knowledge and experience from the institute sector, knowledge organizations, or international development is an advantage
• Good communication, communication, and formulation skills
• Good insight into Norwegian research policy and CMI's research area
• Ability to build networks and create trust both internally and externally
• Good insight into the requirements for good financial management and administrative needs in a knowledge organization
• Good insight into financing mechanisms and landscapes nationally and internationally
