Throw No More leads the fight against food waste in Norway, and we are now looking for a CTO/senior developer to join our team. We are a rapidly growing (and profitable) company, and our developers need a leader and a companion. Let’s fight food waste together!

Throw No More is a Norwegian company that has developed and runs a food waste app with the same name. The app shows end users what grocery stores near them sell off goods to a reduced price, because of proximity to expiration date. Our aim is to reduce food waste in grocery stores and contribute towards a greener environment by enabling food retailers to sell products that otherwise would have been discarded.

We are developing our technical platform using primarily PHP and JavaScript. Our solution is connected to our customer’s in-store software, which makes everything run smoothly. This is a platform that always can be improved upon, both from a technical and business point of view. We are rapidly gaining traction in Norway and will soon be ready to launch internationally. Job description:

We would like to find a person who has a background from coding and developing, but also a person with leadership experience and a business mind. One who can help figure out the needs of our users, customers and company, turn this information into technical specifications and lead our developers safely and effectively through different projects.

You will be responsible for:

• An overall responsibility for our system architecture and technology (IPR, backend, frontend, domain, servers, tech team)
• Lead and motivate a growing team of developers
• Finding solutions on how to further develop our solution and write specifications
• Maintaining construction + prepare and maintain deployment timeline and budget
• Ensure good communication between the business side and the technical team
• Contributing and writing technical contracts with customers and partners
• Ensure the compliance of technological regulations
• Recruitment of new developers

Qualifications:

• Preferred Norwegian as first language
• English language
• Higher university degree in engineering, technology or industry related subjects
• Experience with developing tech strategy, roadmaps and tech architecture based on business strategy
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with managing tech teams
• Strategic and business oriented
• Ability to influence decisions, motivate and execute
• Like working with data and statistics
• Strong organizational skills and Team spirit!

Nice to have:

• PHP, Strong MVC knowledge, API, OAuth, REST
• Redis (cache, subscriptions)
• SQL Mysql / MariaDB (Galera), clear sql, ORM
• High Availability / High performance applications experience
• Frontend medium skills (css, valilla JS / jquery, VUE)
• UX design
• git (+gitflow)
• Linux
