Payroll Manager Norway

As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership of the payroll function across Norway, which covers circa 230 employees. You will have sole responsibility for processing all payroll requirements, with HR support based in Norway.

You will be accountable for the overall end to end process of payroll.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure that the company’s obligations in all areas such as tax, pension and payroll compliance are fully met
• Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle including time and attendance, payroll queries, processing, superannuation payments and processing of EFT.
• Manage the relationship with service providers externally including ADP (outsourced Payroll Solution), Flex (Time & Attendance System) and any other relationships or services in use
• Ensure a high standard of service is delivered to all internal/external customers to deliver accurate and timely end to end payroll is processed
• Ensure all payroll queries are responded to in a professional and timely manner
• Calculate and process termination payments including superannuation, leave entitlements and/or redundancy payments
• Produce end-of-month payroll reporting including GL reconciliation and customised report writing as required
• Ensure you are up to date with all legislative and statutory requirements
• Lead on payroll related projects and drive on delivery and timelines
• Demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem solving
• Work with company and external auditors ensuring compliance with and adherence to audit and security policies
• Help drive a policy of continuous improvement on all processes and systems

Main requirements:

• Hands on experience of working in a high volume, payroll environment
• The ability to take ownership for the full payroll process, having done this for large organisations with multiple entities in the past
•  Understands current legislation and obligations and keeps up to date with requirements and changes
•  The ability to effectively solve problems, and instil changes to prevent future reoccurrences
• Exceptional customer service, attention to detail and analytical skills
• Effectively working with 3rd party suppliers
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to make decisions and drive through solutions.
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Organizational and time management skills in managing multiple, diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities
• Detailed knowledge of tax, pension, and payroll regulations and practices
• Understanding common payroll related issues and experience in payroll compliance practices
• Advanced Excel skills; the ability to create reports and manipulate data. 
• Fluent in Norwegian & English
