This position is responsible for the management of the IT infrastructure and operations for Gexcon, including SLA's with IT vendors and -partners supporting Gexcon IT operations in Norway and globally.
As IT Manager you will be responsible for strategic planning of enhancements and improvements to existing setup and security aspects, including further use of Cloud solutions. The role also includes ownership of SaaS solutions used by Gexcon. You will be part of the Gexcon management team.

Duties and responsibilities

Secure steady IT operations on existing enterprise IT infrastructure.

Follow-up on IT partners deliveries according to SLA on existing IT architecture: hybrid IT infrastructure including computational capacity, data storage, local network, print as well as IT operations, security, support and service desk.

Together with IT partners and internal users, isolate problem trends and ensure that troubleshooting efforts are completed for recurring problems until permanent solutions are found.

Deliver performance metrics on KPIs on steady and secure IT operations.

Manage a list of standard equipment - laptops, desktops, screens, mobile devices, etc - which supports the needs of Gexcon employees.

Maintain documentation of IT architecture, configurations and operations including list of equipment and devices owned by Gexcon.

Budget and cost responsible for running IT operations.

Plan for further improvements on IT infrastructure.

Keep updated on new technological trends which should be utilized by Gexcon.

Improve Gexcon global IT infrastructure coherence and standardization.

Analyze problems to assess needs and determine optimum solutions to IT concerns, including IT infrastructure (re-)design.

Recommend new and existing IT infrastructures and operational models that will increase cost-effectiveness and systems flexibility, such as AWS and Azure Cloud, including business case for investments.

Together with IT partners and internal users, manage capacity planning of IT infrastructure, proactively submitting recommendations to meet business demand.

Together with IT partners and internal users, plan for upgrade of software releases, new hardware, system upgrades and patches.

Acquire new software and hardware, negotiate service contracts and build relationships with vendors and service providers.

Budget planning.

Ownership of internal digitalization.

Management and ownership of Office365 licenses, and promote best practices to increase employee collaboration.

Management and ownership of SaaS solutions, including Xledger, Landax and other administrative and sales solutions.

Improve internal digitalization introducing automated interfaces between administrative and sales solutions.

Budget and cost responsible for internal digitalization.

Support to Gexcon software product development.

Participate in establishment of new product offerings to Gexcon customers, including use of PaaS / IaaS as Cloud runtime environment based on PAYG licensing models.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
Certifications in Cloud technologies, Microsoft & VMware desired.   

 

5 years' progressive experience in global IT Infrastructure.

3 years' management/supervision of technical engineers preferred.

5 years' experience on Windows Server, Linux, Enterprise Storage, VMware, high availability solutions and enterprise level backup systems.

1 years' experience in Cloud (AWS & Azure) Infrastructure Management is desired.

Budgeting, monitoring of costs, KPI reporting, SLA establishment and follow-up.

Project management experience preferred.
