Haukeland University Hospital employs about 12000 people and almost 600000 patients are treated annually. Research is a core activity. To boost interdisciplinary research activities in multimodal human imaging and visualization, the Mohn Medical Imaging and Visualization Centre (MMIV, https://www.mmiv.no ) was established in 2017 through strategic funding from the Trond Mohn Foundation, the Haukeland University Hospital and the University of Bergen.

MMIV currently nourishes four carefully selected, peer-reviewed research projects initiated at the university hospital and three faculties (Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Psychology) at the University of Bergen. A major step forward for the Centre was the recent successful hiring processes of several new PhD and Postdocs to the Centre, and the co-localization of all Centre research activities in novel office spaces on the premises of Helse Bergen HF. MMIV has matured from an initial startup phase to a running phase - and the directorship of the Centre is being changed. The current announcement is for a new Centre director for MMIV.
