The Kverneland Group production site dedicated to the development and manufacturing of Kverneland ploughs is located in Klepp, Norway. This is the area where Ole Gabriel Kverneland founded his forge in 1879, and today it is the competence center for Plough Equipment and Group Test Centre. Through our unique steel heat treatment processes, we produce ploughs and equipment guaranteeing outstanding performance, longevity and low operating costs under the Kverneland Profitable Ploughing concept. Today, more than 500 employees contribute to delivering excellent products and customer service, employed in the legal entity of Kverneland Group Operations Norway AS.
General Job duties
The Managing Director is responsible for the overall business of the entity and has full P&L responsibility. He/She develops the strategy for the success of the business in collaboration with the Leadership Team and oversees the daily operations of the plant in Klepp, Norway. The Managing Director drives continuous improvement and monitors all the plant operations for efficiency and safety, ensuring that all set targets and applicable regulatory requirements are met and followed.
We are looking for a Managing Director with a strong operations management background and a feel for business (products and markets) as well. Starting with the implementation of increased target management and build on sustainable relations with the teams, the group, and other stakeholders. From that point of view, the candidate should have a technical background and additional experience and degrees in business management.
The candidate will be reporting hierarchal into the EVP Arable Systems Division. The candidate can also rely on support from Group Manufacturing, based in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsible for the strategy and results ( P&L responsible) of the Norwegian operations in alignment with the broader company strategy.
- Lead the Management team consisting of Production, Supply Chain, R&D, Product Management & Service, Engineering and Maintenance, HR as well as Finance.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs. Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
- Commit to planting safety procedures.
- Stay up to date with the latest lean management (best) practices and concepts in close cooperation with group manufacturing and other group functionalities.
- Maintains professional relationships with regional authorities and industry stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Managing Director or Operations Director within a large multinational or a similar role of a minimum of 8 years.
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- The personality to get along with co-workers; ability to work with a team, negotiate successfully and solve conflicts are equally important.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory processes.
- Experience with production management and optimization in complex structures within order production or single-piece production with full value chain.
- A high level of integrity, with high personal standards on matters relating to safety, ethics, integrity compliance and conduct Computer literacy.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Master’s degree in Operations Management, Business Management or related field.
- Fluent Norwegian, solid experience with English.
