                               Business Unit, Fishery & Research

Our new director is assigned total responsibility for the business area, which today consists of the MacGregor companies Rapp Marine in Bodø and Triplex at Averøy. The business unit has a strong global market position in electrical and hydraulic winch-and cargo handling systems. Especially for fishing and research vessels. As an important part of the business unit there is a growing service- / aftermarket portfolio. Total turnover in 2017 was approx. NOK 650 million and the approx. number of employees is 180. The business area is an important part of the MacGregor growth strategy. Our new leader will be responsible for implementing this through a clear direction, and by being customer oriented and hands-on. The position is located at one of our offices in Bodø or Averøy.

Your Role

• The overall P & L responsibility for the business unit.
• An overall responsibility for sales / order entry and ensuring the delivery of products and services to agreed quality, time and price.
• Ensure optimal coordination of the organization across the different locations to secure positive utilization of the unit's total resources.
• Daily management with the focus of optimalisation of work processes, competence and performance improvements.
• Responsible to execute the strategy initiatives as agreed.
  
  

Key Tasks

• Champion the performance and development planning process in the unit.
• Prepare and implement operations plan, guiding sales and order fulfillment.
• Monitor and continuously align operational capacity to sales, projects and forecasts.
• Be available for the organization regarding discussion and clarifications about operative tasks.
• Continuously monitor the market through contact with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure that agreed procedures are documented, implemented and followed.
• Prepare budget and forecast for the unit.
• Drive continuous improvements, both within cost control and efficiency.
• Support development of new products and technology together with R&D, Product Management, Marketing and Sales.
• Ensure coordination with other business units in the Divisions and contribute to the development of the Divisions short- and tong term tactics and strategy.
  
  

We are looking for candidates with higher technical or/and Business education (Master or Bachelor). The right candidate has at least 10 years of relevant experience, of which a minimum of 5 years of management experience. It is crucial that the right person can document excellent contributions from management positions preferably within the maritime environment such as equipment suppliers, ship design and shipyards.

We are looking for an operative leader who has the ability to lead development and restructuring processes. You succeed through your excellent communication and implementation capacity. You are robust, motivating and driven by creating results in close collaboration with colleagues.
