The Sports Next team is part of Schibsted’s Media Product & Technology division and responsible for VG Live and Aftonbladet Målservice. In addition, the Sports Next team develops a platform for sports data that is distributed to several Schibsted media houses such as Aftenposten and Bergens Tidende. VG Live holds a leading position for live scores and statistics in Norway, on average serving more than 200 000 users every day. Aftonbladet’s Målservice is aiming for a similar position in Sweden.
As Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing a cross-functional, distributed team with developers in Oslo and Krakow. The role is responsible for creating and executing a vision and mission for the products in the Sports Next product portfolio. You will work closely with product managers in other teams in Schibsted and report directly to the Product Management Lead in Next Gen Products.
You should be passionate about bringing the right piece of data to the right user at the right time. You recognize sports as an important element across cultures and have great empathy for users that love to geek out on sports statistics.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop, prioritize and deploy new features and products in collaboration with editorial, UX, tech and commercial teams
  • Collaborating closely with your stakeholders and define a product vision and craft a winning strategy for Sports Next’s products
  • Formulating Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and achieving these
  • Applying and developing agile product management practices to achieve the team’s objectives
  • Gathering and sharing insights and best practices with your team and stakeholders
  • Communicating the Sports Next vision internally and externally
  • Contributing to the product management community in Schibsted

We are looking for someone who:

  • Provides clear product direction and knows how to motivate and manage a cross-disciplinary team to build successful products
  • Builds partnerships through collaboration
  • Is passionate about data-informed and agile product development
  • Has the ability to inspire and guide teams without direct authority and provide hands-on leadership
  • Has experience with digital product development and management
  • Has a degree level qualification in business or technology, or equivalent experience
