General Counsel | Shearwater

As a result of the growth and development of the company, Shearwater is now looking to expand its organisation with a General Counsel strategically positioned in Bergen in the company’s head office. As the legal spearhead of the global organization you will have the final responsibility for the company's legal and compliance operations worldwide as a part of a legal team of three lawyers.

We are looking for an experienced candidate with excellent legal skills, a strategic and commercial mindset and high level of integrity.

The ideal candidate:

-          Masters one or more of the following areas; Mergers & Acquisitions, IPO and OSE regulations, financing, competition law, corporate law and corporate governance, anti-corruption and sanctions, maritime law and / or intellectual property rights

-          Has experience with implementing and monitoring compliance and anti-corruption programs

-          Is comfortable leading corporate restructuring and governance projects

-          Understands and values Corporate Social Responsibility

-          Can manage the legal aspects of GDPR and relevant privacy laws

-          Enjoys motivating others, training new employees and enhancing our legal team

-          Is an excellent communicator and enjoys working closely with others

The role will be located in Bergen and will report to SVP Corporate Services.
