CEO and co-founder for Cimon Medical AS

NTNU Technology Transfer is establishing Cimon Medical and is looking for a CEO and co-founder to take part in building Norway’s most exciting start-up company in the field of medical technology. The company is based on groundbreaking, patented technology originating from the internationally renowned ultrasound environment at NTNU and St. Olav’s Hospital. Cimon Medical develops products for a wide range of clinical applications with a significant global commercial potential. Work is currently centered on three clinical applications related to continuous monitoring of blood flow within: Newborn intensive care, peripheral arterial disease and sepsis diagnosis. The company will continue the ongoing cooperation with the technological and clinical resources at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging (NTNU) and St. Olavs Hospital.

The following milestones have been accomplished:

• Developed functional prototypes for three different clinical applications
• Applied for several patents based on the technology and its use in three clinical applications
• Ensured regulatory approval of eleven clinical trials from the Directorate of Health and the Regional Ethics Committee
• Completed initial studies with highly promising results for three clinical applications
• In addition, eight clinical trials are being conducted by over 20 clinicians at St. Olavs Hospital, Oslo University Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children in Canada and Turku University Hospital in Finland
• Raised soft funding of NOK 40 million
• Established dialogue with big international actors within relevant industry

As CEO, you will be responsible for further development of the company’s business strategy, including market strategy, funding, product development and clinical testing. This is a demanding and exciting position, and for the right person this will be a unique opportunity to establish and build a company with high ambitions and great potential for global growth.

Relevant qualifications could include

• Experience from business development and technology management
• Entrepreneurial experience with market launch of hardware and software products
• Experience from developing a QA-system for regulatory approval of products
• Experience from medical engineering
• Experience from sales to hospitals and health enterprises
• Strong academic background
