Senior Advisor - Human Rights/Team leader Human rights, Social and Environment

The Senior Advisor will be part of and reporting to the Head of the Corporate Responsibility and Compliance Unit, based in Oslo. The advisor will head up the team responsible for human rights, social and environment issues.

Your role:

Provide support to the work of the unit, covering a range of different activities, with a particular focus on:

• Provide the overall lead on Statkrafts human rights program
• Ensure continuous improvement of the internal governing documents for environment and social dimensions, including: environment, human rights, corporate responsibility related investments and donations and similar
• Provide advice to the business areas and staff areas on human rights issues in projects and day-to-day business, and oversee the advice given on environment and corporate responsibility investment topics
• Support risk assessment work in the company on human rights related matters.
• Develop new guidance and training material on environment, human rights and corporate responsibility investments, and participate in giving training
• Participate in integrity due diligence reviews of potential business partners, suppliers and trading counterparties where human rights issues arise, and oversee similar for environment
• Participate in due diligence assessments for potential acquisitions and projects where applicable
• Take the lead on communication with relevant external stakeholders at Group level, and contribute to reporting processes at this level

 Your profile:

• Law degree or a social science degree, or equivalent
• Strong competence on the human rights framework
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in key geographical areas of operation for Statkraft would be a benefit
• Relevant experience from human rights related work, in multinational companies, law firms, auditing firms, other consultancy, NGOs or in public institutions
• Experience from private sector
• Good business understanding and international experience would be a benefit
• Strong leadership skills, proven ability to deliver on change management projects, and efficiently manage a portfolio of high quality deliverables within short timeframes
• Self-aware, self-confident and a good listener with the ability to provide proactive advice
• Articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing
• High proficiency in written and spoken English. Other language skills of relevance for our geographical areas of operation would also be a benefit
• Excellent analytical skills
• Personal integrity and high ethical standards

 The position will be located at the head office in Oslo, Lilleaker - Norway. Some travelling will be required.
