Nordman Partners has been engaged by a client in Eastern Norway (Østlandet) in the search for a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The Company is a Technology Company in the Oilfield sector that has reached key milestones in the commercialisation of their technology products. In line with this, the appointment of a CCO will be a key step in achieving the anticipated growth and capitalise on substantial global market opportunities.
The CCO will have the overall Sales and Marketing responsibility in the Company and will be a key member of the Leadership team.
The Company enjoys a unique position in the market with patented technology and they have already achieved approved supplier status with one of the major oil companies globally. With sound financial backing, existing customer orders and a strong Leadership team already in place this is a great career opportunity. The right individual will have a chance to be part of an exciting journey leading a small company in achieving their vision of becoming a substantial company within their field.
Basic functions and tasks:
- Overall responsibility for the Sales & BD, Tender & Contracts and Marketing functions and for increasing the company's turnover.
- Responsibility for capitalising on current market opportunities in developed and new markets.
- Responsibility for business development strategy and tactics.
- Responsibility for recruitment and building a sales and commercial department globally.
- Personnel responsibility for all sales and business development staff in the company.
- Sounding board to the CEO on overall strategic direction for the company.
Experience and Qualifications required:
- Oilfield Executive with a proven record in the industry.
- Ideally from a technical background with the most desirable disciplines being Lower Completions, Reservoir and Production. Closely related disciplines will be considered subject to overall profile.
- A minimum of 10+ years' management experience from Engineering / Operations and Sales / Commercial roles beyond field roles.
- Strong Sales / BD / Commercial achievements to refer to.
- Experience of working in an international environment and with different business cultures.
- An independent professional and a self-starter.
- University educated to Degree level in a relevant technical subject. An MBA qualification would be attractive, however, not essential.
