Do you have experience as a Project Technical Manager within the Oil & Gas industry?

Candidate profile

The preferable candidate shall have experience from the oil and gas industry, preferable within the IRM segment. The role will encompass technical management of projects in Europe, Mediterranean and West Africa, and international experience and commercial understanding/experience will be expected. The candidate shall live in Norway (Bergen) or be willing to move to Bergen.

Education, experience and knowlegde

• University level education in a relevant Engineering Discipline (Experience can compensate for lack of formal competency)
• Minimum of 8-10 years relevant work experience, fluent in English (both written and verbal)
• Highly confident, self-motivated and self-disciplined person with sound management and organisational skills
• Good technical skills
• Good communication and interaction skills
• A sound understanding and working knowledge of statutory requirements, HSE regulations and Standards related to the Offshore Engineering industry

 Task and responsibilities

Tasks can include, but are not limited to

• The Project Technical Manager (PTM) is a part of the project management team.
• The PTM is responsible for creating and directing a functional team of engineers and making sure that the team works together in an organised and efficient manner. The role of the PTM is to be result oriented and be a motivator and mentor for the team while ensuring "industry best practice" is utilized and documented in the development of the technical delivery for projects, tenders, and studies
• Responsibility for the technical execution of projects, estimates and tender
• Follow-up of engineers in projects and quality controls
• Follow-up of operations onshore and offshore
• Follow-up of the interface between business partners and customers
• Support business acquisition, both for BD and Tendering activities
• Promote DOF Subsea’s engineering capabilities to clients and the market in general
• Promote the company’s organizational culture, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
• Promote the development of a HSEQ culture and system that minimizes the risk of injury to personnel, the environment and equipment to ALARP levels (As Low As Reasonably Practical);
• The PTM may be asked to deputise as Project Manager as and when required

• Act as a Role Model for the teams and promote the DOF Subsea values and brand towards all parties
• Work effectively, professionally and tactfully with the region's diverse workforce, managers and external companies
