Public Affairs and Communication Director - Roche

Roche Norge is looking for an experienced Public Affairs & Communication Director who will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our stakeholder relations, through frequent interaction with politicians, political advisors, media, senior administration officials, government agencies and industry- and patient organizations. A significant part of this role is to work with transforming Norway’s complex healthcare industry challenges and develop clear and compelling actions that affect decision makers.

Main responsibilities in this job are to lead the Public Affairs and Communications department and demonstrate effective people leadership according to Roche Leadership Commitments. You will develop, maintain and shape the company’s overall Public Affairs communication strategies and tactics. You will also represent Roche Pharma in selected forums such as industry associations and multi-stakeholders alliances. Furthermore,  representing Roche Norge towards media inquiries.

We are looking for a person who has a strong track record from a similar position in a regulated industry or/and experience in a Communication Department preferably from the public healthcare sector in Norway. This individual will report to and work closely with the General Manager to define, plan and execute the overall Public Affairs and Communication strategy for the organization. The candidate must be an exceptional communicator (written and oral) with strong business acumen, ability to influence, demonstrated team building and leadership capabilities and executive presence. He/she must ensure cross-functional collaboration with medical, brand, market access and pricing, government affairs, health policy and other stakeholders locally to optimally manage relationships aligning them and effectively executing the Public Affairs strategy. An understanding and overview of the Norwegian healthcare system is beneficial and you have demonstrated ability to build trust in stakeholders and influence in decision-making. You have a university degree or similar background, and experience in handling media. Excellent language skills in Norwegian and English, oral and written, is required. As the right candidate, you will naturally act bold by stepping out of the comfort zone and like to try out new ideas and approaches.
