Our Passenger Services Manager is commencing with new challenges within Menzies Aviation and we are now looking for his successor. 

Overview

The job will be accountable for the operational and financial performance of the Passenger Services department in Menzies Aviation at OSL-Gardermoen airport. The position is a part of the Management team and is reporting to the Station Manager. With 150 employees the Passenger Services department at OSL offers a wide variety of airport services as check-in-, gate, ticketing- and assistance to a large customer base. As Passenger Services Manager you will work closely with your two Supervisors and eight Duty Managers to ensure good follow-up of all employees and operational and financial goals are reached for your department. 

The role requires a proven manager with a strong operational and business understanding.

 

Main accountabilities include:

  • Ensuring service delivery to customer airlines in accordance with airline contracts, and within the agreed budget level.
  • Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual, and according to international aviation standards.
  • Monitoring performance and taking action to correct any shortfalls.
  • Liaising with airline station managers, airport operations management, handling agents, customs, immigration, security officials, union officials, and other airport stakeholders.
  • Providing reports and service delivery measurements as required.
  • Providing leadership to the team and developing their skills.
  • Negotiating staff agreements and working schedules with union officials.
  • Ensuring the department is compliant with the company’s QA & QC programmes.
  • Ensure the department is led according to the Norwegian labor law and local union agreements

 

Candidate requirements

  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Substantial management experience preferably in the Aviation sector.
  • Extensive experience in Passenger handling is valued
  • Proficient knowledge of the IATA Standard Ground Handling Agreement is valued.
  • Fully versed on International Aviation Safety and Security standards and passionate about promoting them within the organisation is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with a firm grasp on financial practices.
  • Proven track record on P&L accountability; budget-responsible and driven to achieve results.
  • SLA driven to meet customer expectations by delivering excellence.
  • A strong sense of stakeholder engagement. This includes, but is not limited to: Customer portfolio, Airport representatives, Local CAA, local third party providers.
  • Ability to develop the team, provide succession planning and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business.
  • Ability to drive and deliver improvement plans and the relevant follow up process.
  • Ability to identify productivity efficiency or inefficiency and tailor the operational demand based on the operational dynamics within the station.
  • Adaptability with regards to working with a multi-national workforce, and collaborating well with local working unions.
  • Knowledge of local labour legislation is a big advantage.
  • Strong communcations skills in both written and spoken English. A Scandinavian language is a plus. 

 

As the position is located at Oslo Airport Gardermoen the candidates must be able to attain the background clearance from the Civil Aviation Authorities which require: 

  • Original police clearance documenation from EU/EEA-countries for the past 5 years
  • Documentation on work/studies from EU/EEA-countries for the past 5 years
