We are seeking an experienced E-Commerce Distribution Specialist to help shape one of Norway's strongest brands. Our vision is to become the World Leader in Exploration Travel - to support this via our digital channels, we require an analytical, organized and solution-orientated individual to manage, execute and maintain our expanding online distribution/sales strategy.

As Hurtigruten moves to more efficient and advanced backend systems, we are seeking to implement API technologies and partner with a growing number of affiliates, travel agents, OTAs and metasearch engines. In this newly created position, you will have the opportunity to define the role as you establish processes, develop relationships and take lead on system development, support and distribution to 3rd parties.

Reporting to the Global E-Commerce Manager and sitting within a dynamic e-commerce team, you will act as a key contact between web developers, media agency, IT department, global internal sales teams and external sales agents. Evidently, the role is suitable to a commercially-focused, technically-competent, collaborative and outgoing individual. The overall purpose of the role is to support e-commerce sales activity and distribute products.

Tasks

  • Establish processes and relationships internally and with external agents in this newly created role
  • Coordinate the development and continuous improvement of API technologies and expanding distribution strategy
  • Identify, analyse and escalate any technical problems with partners' integrations and support enquiries
  • Collaborate with our media agency, local markets, revenue department and e-commerce team to drive growth in affiliate marketing

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in a business, commerce or IT-related field
  • 5+ years' work experience, preferably in the travel industry and/or with global brands
  • Knowledge of cruise distribution practices and regulatory environment advantageous
  • Experience working with complex IT architecture, backend systems, APIs and content management systems (EpiServer preferred)
  • Working knowledge of affiliate marketing including collaborating with external agencies and networks
  • Experience working with web developers and external partners
  • Expert knowledge using project management tools (JIRA/Confluence advantageous)
  • Exposure to global consumer and trade markets is desirable
  • Understanding of SEO and other digital/performance marketing channels (including email, PPC, display, native, social and content marketing) would be advantageous

  • English

Personal qualities

  • Fluent English-speaking mandatory as you will be working across global teams and with global 3rd parties. Norwegian is desirable but not required. Any additional languages would be advantageous.
