There is a temporary position as postdoctoral fellow available for a period of 3 years with required duties at the Department of Psychology. The position is a fixed-term position with the primary goal of qualifying for work in professional academic chair positions.

The Department of Psychology currently has approximately 110 employees and 1100 students. The Department holds a large and diverse research community covering a variety of disciplines within psychology, and offers studies at the bachelor-, master- and PhD level in addition to a study programme in clinical psychology. The Department also has three outpatient clinics that offer out-patient treatment as part of the educational programme in clinical psychology. In addition, the Department participates in extensive local, national and international research collaborations. Our research ambition is to be internationally and nationally leading in various diciplines of psychology.

The position as postdoctoral fellow will be connected to the EU funded project ECHOES. ECHOES is a three-year project with 14 partners from 9 different countries coordinated by Prof. Christian A. Klöckner at the Department of psychology, NTNU. Its scope is to analyze acceptance of the European energy union and measures to carbon neutral European societies in three technological foci (smart energy technology, electric mobility and energy use in buildings) from the micro- (individual decision-making as part of collectives), meso- (energy cultures and lifestyles) and macro-perspective (formal social units like companies or governments). ECHOES combines psychology, sociology, political science, and economics in a multimethod approach. Within the project, focus-group interviews, individual interviews, national surveys, psychological experiments and a 30 country transnational survey will be conducted. The position will be placed in the research group for ?consumption, environment, and traffic", which is lead by Prof. Christian A. Klöckner (http://www.ntnu.no/psykologi/consumption-environment-and-traffic). In addition, the position includes one year of required duties consisting of teaching, supervision and grading after agreement with the Department.

Qualifications

Employment will be activated in accordance with existing regulations of 31 January 2006 (http://www.lovdata.no/dokument/SF/forskrift/2006-01-31-102). The requirement for the position is a completed Norwegian PhD in psychology or a closely related field of behavioral science, or a completed foreign PhD approved as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD in in psychology or a closely related field of behavioral science.

It is mandatory that the candidate can document a strong background in quantitative research methods and experience with empirical data-collections. Documented empirical research experience in one of the technological foci of the project (smart energy technology, electric mobility and energy use in buildings), knowledge in environmental or social psychology, identity and/or lifestyle research, as well as documented management skills will be considered positively in the selection process.

Proficiency in oral and written English is required.

Personal skills such as flexibility, excellent cooperation skills and motivation to contribute to a good work environment, will be emphasized.

Payment- and working conditions

The postdoctoral fellow position is paid according to salary scale 57 in the National Salary Scheme, gross NOK 40.475,- per month, of which 2 % is deducted for the State Pension Scheme.

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants. The employee is expected to accept possible changes in work tasks. It is essential that the successful candidate is present and available at the Department of Psychology.
