Eelume is a new underwater robotics company based on technology and research from NTNU. We are collaborating with Kongsberg Maritime and Statoil on the development of a new type of underwater vehicle. The ROV/AUV platform takes inspiration from eels and snakes for high speed, superior accessibility inside narrow subsea structures, and the ability to perform manipulation and intervention tasks.

Tasks

The candidate will lead the mechanical design and construction in our engineering team, and must be proficient in mechanical design using SolidWorks, Inventor or similar CAD software. The candidate will also be heavily involved in assembly, testing, prototyping, documentation, rigging, piloting and planning of solutions and activities. System design and visualization are also important aspects.

Qualifications

. Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanics/Design.
. Proficient in mechanical design using SolidWorks, Inventor or similar CAD software.
. Hands-on experience with prototyping of mechanical systems.
Preferred skills and experience:
. Experience with subsea systems and underwater vehicles (ROVs).
. Experience with prototyping of mechanical systems.
. 5-10 years industrial experience.
