OVT aims to be the world’s leading development team for automotive sensors, providing the next generation image sensors needed in machine vision for autonomous vehicles. In a rapidly developing industry, we are looking for talent to help drive our innovation and continuous improvements to be ahead of the current technology.

Location: Oslo, Norway

6 Positions Available:

  • 3 Analog Designers: Staff or Senior level
  • 3 Digital Designers: 2 Sr. & 1 entry level

Staff/Sr. Analog Design Engineer Position

Overview analog positions:

  • Join one of the world’s leading development teams for image sensors for autonomous cars.
  • Design analog and mixed signal circuits for CMOS image sensors using industry standard CAD tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Implement block level transistor level layout and perform physical verification using CAD tools such as Virtuoso, Calibre and Hercules
  • Debug, characterize and optimize performance for fabricated image sensor chips.
  • Perform top level verification and analysis of the top level design, including power supply and floor plan and crosstalk effects

Responsibilities for both Analog Position include:

As an Staff or Sr. Analog Design Engineer, you will produce analog circuit solutions by identifying project objectives and issues; researching analog engineering techniques and approaches; and by developing circuit, component and logic designs. In addition, you will design pixel array readouts, amplifiers, and analog/digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction, temperature sensors, as well as I/O interfaces and low noise regulators for use in our Image Sensor products and similar specialty state-of-the-art products.

In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our design methodology and circuit innovation; develop methodology and solutions for reliability and safety in automotive products; develop methods of verifying and validating design blocks and the full chip through simulations and tests.

We are also looking for someone who can work with the design engineers on our chip architecture, floor planning and pad frame decisions.

Both Analog Positions Require:

  • Must have: Minimum M.Sc. Electrical Engineering + 4 years’ relevant experience or 2-3 years’ experience in the analog design of image sensors
  • Must have experience/knowledge in analog circuits, digital circuits and semiconductor device physics.
  • Experience/knowledge in CMOS image sensor readout circuit design a plus
  • Experience/knowledge in image sensor and camera system is a plus.
  • Must have an excellent command of English as a working language

Digital Design Engineer Positions, Sr. and regular

Overview digital positions:

  • Image sensor control and processing function design and verification
  • High speed interface (USB/MIPI) design and verification
  • Full-chip integration and verification
  • Chip bring-up, validation, and debugging
  • Participate in the FPGA development
  • Architecture, registers, interface and design documentation

Digital Design Engineer position Responsibilities:

These positions both involve the design and development of advanced CMOS image sensors. You will be part of an international team that works in the design of timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, and analog/digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement, as well as I/O interfaces and low noise power supplies for use in OmniVision's Image Sensors and similar specialty state-of-the-art products. You will be part of a multi-discipline camera and imaging systems team, defining and documenting specifications, as well as developing RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process the video data. You will be a hands-on contributor who will also take full responsibility for the success of your design.

Sr. Digital Design Engineer Experience and requirements:

  • Must have: Minimum M.Sc. Electrical Engineering + at least 2 yrs. OR B.Sc. Electrical Engineering + at least 4 years of digital design experience (4 yrs and 6 yrs respectively for the Sr. position)
  • Must be: familiar with ASIC digital design flow, including RTL coding/simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, and formality
  • Knowledge of high performance and low power design techniques.
  • Knowledge of FPGA and emulation platforms.
  • Knowledge of SOC architecture.
  • Knowledge of assertion-based formal verification is a plus
  • Image processing/DSP knowledge is a plus
  • Requires an excellent command of English as a working language

What we can offer:

We offer competitive wages and benefits, including an attractive pension plan, worker`s compensation insurance above the Norwegian norm and extra medical insurance. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work in a challenging, interesting and multi-cultural workplace with a varied work day, working on state-of–the-art image sensor chip designs in close collaboration with our colleagues in the U.S.A. and China.
