Software Engineer

Job summary

As a ”Software Engineer” you will be working within the Simplicity development team designing and maintaining world class tools supporting Silicon Labs’ current and future device families. You need excellent skills in both PC application development and/or Embedded software development, as well as automated test systems for tools in production. You should be highly motivated, self-driven and will be working in a team with other highly talented people.

Core competencies

• Cross platform ( Windows, OSX and Linux ) PC application development
• Cross platform ( Windows, OSX and Linux ) PC driver (DLL) development
• Understanding of hardware or the desire to learn more about hardware and the interaction between hardware, firmware and software in an embedded system.
• Embedded software design
• Software architecture and development for embedded microcontrollers in these areas
• • RTOS software development and integration
  • Standard middleware components (flash file systems, comms. drivers, etc. )
  • API design and library development
  • Example application development
  • Documentation
• Automated test system development ( both hardware and software )
• Partner and customer interaction

Qualifications

• B.S or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required
• More than 3 years’ experience in PC applications development and/or embedded SW development
• Juniors (0-3 years of experience) with an outstanding academic record will also be considered.
• Strong embedded software development skills ( C and/or assembly language )
• Strong software development skills ( Java, C++ or similar )
• Knowledge or experience in PC UI development ( QT, Swing, SWT or similar )
• Knowledge or experience with embedded RTOS and middleware components
• Python and/or other scripting languages is a plus
