Piping/ SR Welding /Structural/ISO Engineer

On behalf of A/S Norske Shell we are looking for the following positions to a modular construction project in Norway and Poland

Sr Welding Engineer (B13610 Biek)
Structural Engineer (B13612 Biek)
ISO Engineer (B13614Biek)

Contract Period: Start: 01.03.2014 End: 28.02.2015
Period of work: 9 - 12 mnd
Workplace: Stord and Polen

JOB PURPOSE:

This position, located at Stord and Poland, shall support execution of fabrication requirements in Nyhamna Expansion and minor modification projects as part of the Shell Module Construction Team.
The Team's scope includes working with the EPCm contractor (Kvaerner) on delivery of 17000 Mt of process modules and pipe racks at a number of global sub-contracting fabrication sites (Norway, other European yards, China), delivered to Nyhamna mechanical complete with no carry over work and pre-commissioned to the extent possible.

KEY INTERFACES:

• Shell Nyhamna Expansion Project organisation.
• Counterparts in Kvaerner organisations at Stord and Poland yards. 
• Fabrication contractors (through Kvaerner counterparts)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Build good relationship with Kvaerner and Fabrication contractors and all relevant parties in the project. 
• Drive delivery of piping scope, including mechanical static equipment, in fabrication, with focus on scope of work, quality, HSE and progress. 
• Cascade and implement Shell best practices as described in Shell standards and guidelines. 
• Have high focus on HSE and support Kvaerner and Fabrication contractors. 
• Drive delivery of work-packs and materials to meet fabrication site need dates. 
• Ensure implementation of material receipt and preservation requirements, including use of MIPS. 
• Participate in baseline updates and reviews of weekly/ bi-weekly progress. 
• Participate in risk and opportunity assessment and follow up. 
• Participate in Shell and Kvaerner audits and verifications. 
• Participate in Tool Box Talks. 
• Prepare status reports to Fabrication Site Managers. 
• Liaise with Fabrication Manager on matters related to globally fabrication. 'Laise with Shell HSE, QA/QC and Flawless, E and P, Work-pack and Shell Completion Teams

KEY CHALLENGES:

• Working with Kvaerner to create a partnership with strong professional culture at fabrication yards. 
• Split of work between Stord and Poland yards, and potentially other parts of the world. 
• Ability to communicate effectively across different national -, company - and discipline cultures. 
• Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge consistent with the scope of the project and ability to use networks effectively across Shell organization

Piping Engineer (B13607 Biek)

• BSc or equivalent in mechanical engineering. 
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with 6+ years as piping engineer in project execution organisations (engineering and construction) 
• Communication, organisation and networking skills are as critical as technical skills for the role. 
• Ability to influence others in their own terms and communicate in Norwegian and English

Verify compliance with specifications and codes & standards specified in the Contract, through Inspection and Test Plans, Mechanical Completion Check Sheet's and Pre-Commissioning.
Act as discipline representative for Flawless Project Delivery and be responsible for implementation of mitigation actions identified from lesson learned databases.

               
Sr Welding Inspector (B13610 Biek)

• International Welding Inspector Diploma (IWI-C) or NS 477. 
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the Oil AND Gas industry, with 6+ years as welding inspector from building platforms and modules. 
• Communication, organisation and networking skills and ability to influence others in their own terms and communicate in Norwegian and English.

Verify compliance with specifications and codes and standards specified in the Contract.
Verify that qualification of welding specifications/ procedures and operators are approved and that MIPS is used.
Act as welding representative for Flawless Project Delivery in fabrication.
Follow up welding technical documentation and highlight any areas of concern to Fabrication Site Manager.

Structural Engineer (B13612 Biek) 

• BSc or equivalent in structural steel engineering
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with 6+ years as structural engineer in project execution organisations (engineering and construction) 
• Communication, organisation and networking skills are as critical as technical skills for the role. 
• Ability to influence others in their own terms and communicate in Norwegian and English.

ISO Engineer (B13614 Biek)

• Technical college or similar and FROSIO certificate or equivalent. 
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with 6+ years as ISO engineer in project execution organisations (engineering and construction) 
• Communication, organisation and networking skills are as critical as technical skills for the role. 
• Ability to influence others in their own terms and communicate in Norwegian and English
