Sales Support Specialist - Short Distance Shipping Segment (SDS)
Tasks
We are looking for a Sales Support Specialist, Local Business Line (LBL) Marine Systems, Norway, Marine & Ports Division. You will be responsible for supporting the sales organization and customers throughout the proposal (bidding) process by creating and completing bids/estimations/quotations based on customer’s specification or customer’s requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the Company. The role will be part of the Global Sales Operations team and focusing on the European Market (including Turkey).
Your responsibilities
Formulates competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering the best available product/solution mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs
Work together with Product and Solution Managers to standardize our technical solution as much as possible
Refinement of existing and development of new sales support tools
Manages the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions
Analyzes customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization.
Identifies potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers. Provides information and participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy
Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Provides any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers
Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management.
Requirements
A relevant education at Technician, B.Sc. or M.Sc. level – electrical is an advantage
Solid experience with systems bidding process, ideally within power and propulsion systems
A business-driven mind-set with customer focus
Strong interest for new technology within low- and zero emission
Self-driven personality
Ability to work on a multicultural environment
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
Location in EU – Norway is an advantage
