Job descriptionYou will be responsible for build and lead the maintenance and calibration activities in the new factory to ensure optimal operation and reliability of machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role is ideal for a proactive hands-on leader who is passionate about smart factory technologies, reliability engineering, and team development. Someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is equally comfortable on the factory floor and in the boardroom.
- Actively participate in the detailed engineering phase of the new facility, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that maintenance considerations (accessibility, serviceability, reliability, uptime) are fully integrated into equipment and system designs.
- Influence selection of machinery, materials, and vendors with a focus on lifecycle cost, ease of maintenance, and spare parts standardization.
- Review and provide input on layouts, equipment specifications, and utility plans to ensure long-term maintainability.
- Be part of the commissioning of new production equipment and building systems.
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance and calibration processes for the new automated factory.
- Oversee procurement and inventory of spare parts. Optimize storage and cost-efficiency, ensuring spare parts inventory is up to date.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and internal standards.
- Troubleshoot to resolve downtime issues and support continuous improvement initiatives to increase uptime and productivity.
- Build the necessary team needed to run the factory.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical, mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related field). Practical experience could compensate for education.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance engineering, with proven track record in automated or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of PLC systems, robotics, and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.
