Do you want a leading role in the procurement transformation of Elkem Silicon Products?

The procurement transformation in Elkem Silicon Products (ESP) has accelerated and we are looking for a leader with experience from industrial procurement and category management to manage our initiatives throughout our value chain. As our Procurement Director, you will play an important role in driving our procurement strategy in close cooperation with a central procurement team, procurement departments at our plants and other business units and functions in ESP.

Most important areas of responsibility:

• Set the strategic direction for the indirect procurement function and own the strategy process
• Foster collaboration and alignment between procurement and key stakeholders such as maintenance, process owners, projects and plant managers.
• Oversee, coach and manage the central procurement team, including performance reviews, development plans within the different categories, and day-to-day support.
• Develop and communicate the strategic vision for indirect procurement in alignment with ESP targets
• Foster collaboration and alignment between central procurement and local procurement teams
• Report procurement performance and KPIs, commercial initiatives and achievements to top management
• Act as an escalation point for resolving critical procurement issues within the team
• Drive the development of the procurement function by securing management alignment and securing that any obstacles are resolved

Qualifications required for the position:

• Technical/financial Bachelors or Masters degree within relevant areas 
• Minimum five years experience within management of industrial procurement
• Deep knowledge of procurement processes, category management methodologies, and strategic sourcing
• Strong commercial competence and negotiation skills
• Competence and experience within digitalization opportunities for the function
• Fluent in Norwegian and English, both verbal and in writings

The position reports to VP Procurement & Raw Materials at ESP. The desired location is at one of Elkems facilities in Norway, preferably Oslo, Trondheim or Kristiansand. Travel activity should be expected.
