As a Business Data Analyst at Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), you will work at the intersection of data, finance, and business, developing Power BI reports and contributing to strategic discussions that shape our global operations. The Business Data Analyst plays a vital role across all areas of our organization, providing support through data collection, in-depth analysis, and the development of insightful models and dashboards. Who You will work with:
You will report to the Head of Business Performance and Financial Planning and collaborate closely with Business Performance and the Financial Planning team, working with stakeholders across WSS being a key contributor to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and maintain robust and scalable Power BI data models, reports, and dashboards, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Bridge business units and the analytics team by translating requirements into impactful Power BI dashboards and data insights.
Establish and promote best practices in Power BI report design, data modeling, and performance optimalization.
Analyze and benchmark financial and operational data to identify trends, prepare reports, and support management with actionable insights.
Perform ad hoc and strategic analyses to deliver data-driven insights that support business initiatives and leadership decisions.
What We believe you need to succeed:
Master’s degree, preferably in Business Analytics, Finance, Data science or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in an analytical data-driven role.
Proven experience in Power BI for creating and managing complex reports and dashboards, DAX and SQL.
Familiarity with data warehouse structures and their implications for business reporting, star/snowflake schemas, calculated columns/measures etc.
Familiar with Profit & Loss statements, balance sheet and financial metrics is preferred but not a must.
Strong data handling skills using Microsoft Office tools - particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
