Villa Heftye is seeking three key team members to strengthen our front-of-house experience: an experienced Sommelier, a dedicated Head Waiter, and a charismatic Maître d’. About Villa Heftye
Villa Heftye is a cultural and culinary gem located in the heart of Frogner, Oslo. With deep historical roots and a modern gastronomic vision, we offer private events, curated dinners, and tailored experiences – all with an uncompromising commitment to quality, discretion, and hospitality.
1. Sommelier
You are someone who:
Is a certified sommelier or has equivalent professional experience
Has deep knowledge of and passion for wine, beverages, and pairing
Is confident guiding guests through the wine experience
Collaborates well with the kitchen and service teams
Is structured and proactive in managing inventory and wine lists
Key responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the wine program and cellar
Support and lead wine service during dinners and events
Conduct tastings and staff training
Curate wine pairings in collaboration with the kitchen
Represent Villa Heftye’s wine identity with integrity and elegance
2. Head Waiter
You are someone who:
Has experience in fine dining or high-end restaurants
Thrives in guest-facing roles and leads by example
Works well under pressure and adapts quickly
Brings structure and warmth to service execution
Communicates fluently in English; Norwegian is a plus
Can work week and weekends
Key responsibilities:
Ensure seamless execution of service
Support and guide junior staff
Be hands-on and detail-oriented during events
Act as a point of contact for guests during service
Maintain Villa Heftye’s high standards of hospitality
3. Maître d’ (Hovmester)
You are someone who:
Has strong leadership experience in hospitality or fine dining
Understands the art of hosting and anticipates guests’ needs
Has a confident, calm, and elegant demeanor
Can coordinate staff, pacing, and communication during busy events
Values discretion, timing, and guest experience above all
Can work week and weekends
Key responsibilities:
Be the face and host of Villa Heftye during events and dinners
Oversee and orchestrate front-of-house operations
Manage guest relations with grace and professionalism
Coordinate with the kitchen, sommelier, and service teams
Uphold and elevate the atmosphere, timing, and tone of the guest journey
