Senior Advisor Climate and Environment
Are you our new senior advisor for Climate and Environment? We're looking for an analytical, engaging and solution-oriented person to drive the integration of environmental sustainability into our operations and programmes. You will lead the shaping and andvancing of our environmental roadmap, ensuring sustainability is embedded across our acitivities. Collaborating with colleagues in all NCA departments and in 16 country offices, you will foster strategic and sustainable approaches to our work. You will be part of the Global Logistics Division in the Finance Department. Global Logistics develops, optimizes, and implements procurement and logistics systems for our Head Office and Country Offices with close contact to colleagues in the field.
Main tasks:
- lead the further development of NCA's carbon footprint analysis and monitoring systems
- have an important role revising the plans for a sustainable NCA
- identify cost-effective technical solutions and strategic measures to improve the sustainability of NCA’s operations and programmes
- be a focal point for country offices seeking information and guidance to develop and implement environmental impact reduction strategies
- develop tools to empower NCA country offices and teams to act and take ownership of their own roadmaps to reduce environmental impact
- cooperate with colleagues responsible for NCAs programmatic work on climate and with all programmes on sustainable procurement
- develop a path for the shift to greener power generation and fleet including assessment, funding, implementation, and monitoring
- engage with external working groups and other NGOs to share approaches and develop better practices together
- management of the working group Sustainable NCA
Qualifications and skills:
- Relevant education in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Studies, or a related field
- Experience in carbon footprint analysis, environmental impact assessments and/or sustainability reporting
- Analytical skills to identify carbon reduction opportunities (excel, Power BI, )
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for minimizing environmental impact
- Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders and promote sustainability initiatives
- Interest in sustainable supply chains and waste management
