About the job

The primary responsibility of the Senior Network Engineer role at Cegal involves designing, building, and maintaining advanced network infrastructure to ensure stable operations, while also managing customer onboarding and troubleshooting network issues. This responsibility includes the following:

 

• Design, configure, and implement advanced network solutions
• Plan and deliver new implementations, upgrades, and pilots
• Work with routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
• Collaborate with product teams on innovative technical solutions
• Provide third-line support and technical expertise
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently
• Implement and support network security protocols and practices
• Manage operations of network components, including patching, configuration, and monitoring
• Opportunity to take part in an on-call duty rotation
• Support our culture of knowledge sharing and help mentor junior colleagues

The following qualifications will be valued:

• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures with in-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Expertise in network security protocols and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, with competence in Cisco ISE as an advantage.
• Experience with operations and troubleshooting of network components, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN firewalls, and wireless networking technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to efficiently diagnose and resolve network issues, supported by proficiency with network monitoring tools like Catalyst Center, Zabbix, and NetFlow.
• Vendor-specific knowledge of Cisco and Check Point, with beneficial exposure to Juniper and Palo Alto technologies.
• Experience with 3rd line customer support and understanding of 802.1x client authentication for wired/wireless connections.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with third-party vendors, product teams, and customers for smooth project delivery and operations.
• Experience in mentoring junior colleagues and supporting a culture of knowledge sharing.
