Team Lead – Middleware

Responsibilities:

Team Management and Development

• Lead and continuously develop the Middleware team, with responsibility for resource planning, task follow-up, and prioritisation.

• Oversee daily team operations and ensure effective project execution with strong progress and high-quality outcomes.

• Optionally participate in development and architecture work and contribute to technical decisions and solution design.

• Foster a positive, collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

• Drive continuous improvements in work processes, methodologies, and tools.

Personnel Management

• Assume personnel responsibility for team members, including conducting performance evaluations and monitoring well-being and professional development.

• Assess current competencies and future needs, and develop plans for both individual and team-based skill development.

• Participate in recruitment processes and onboarding of new employees.

Strategy and Collaboration

• Be an active member of the management team within the development department.

• Help establish and follow up on goals, strategies, and guidelines for the department.

• Support cross-functional collaboration and ensure coordination between teams and other parts of the organisation.

Qualifications:

• Higher education, preferably a Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, communication technology, telematics, or similar, relevant fields.

• Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban or other agile frameworks.

• Strong background in software development, preferably with technologies like Java, SQL, and REST/SOAP.

• Good understanding of system architecture and experience in technical design and solution work.

• Proven experience leading development teams in roles such as Team Lead, Tech Lead, Project Manager, or equivalent.

• Solid background in administrative responsibilities, including resource planning, reporting, and cross-team coordination.

• Experience in growth-phase companies or industrial development environments is considered a strong asset.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
