Do you want to join our team as a Lead Design Engineer?
As a Lead Design Engineer at NOV, you will play a pivotal role in the development of subsea structural and mechanical products. You’ll lead design initiatives, create production documentation, and contribute directly to innovation in offshore energy systems. Reporting to the Brøndby office and based in Fornebu, you’ll join a team where you become a key technical contributor in a culture that values autonomy, collaboration, and precision.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and analysis of subsea structural/mechanical systems
Produce detailed production and fabrication drawings in compliance with standards
Drive technical documentation using CAD and PDM tools
Guide junior engineers and contribute to multidisciplinary design efforts
Ensure design solutions comply with NS-ISO 8015 and other relevant specifications
Participate in concept development and fabrication follow-up
Support offshore project execution and cross-functional coordination
Innovate within product development frameworks for subsea technologies
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Technology
5–10 years of experience in subsea design and analysis
Strong skills in creating production and fabrication drawings
Fluent in English
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in product development and technical leadership
Background in offshore project execution and fabrication follow-up
Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Autodesk Inventor) and PDM (e.g., Vault) tools
Familiarity with ISO design standards
Proficiency in Norwegian is an advantage
Soft Skills
Proactive and structured with high professional integrity
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead by example
