Join NOV Stavanger’s Digital Product and Automation group as a Senior Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of drilling rig technologies. You’ll play a key part in the development of some of our  core platform products within a small, agile, and technically mature team. This position combines technical leadership, and hands-on coding in a highly autonomous environment where your decisions directly impact offshore infrastructure innovations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical design, architecture, and backend development using .NET/C#

• Drive platform enhancement for our key products, including security and scalability

• Mentor team members and contribute to agile processes

• Build, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services

• Ensure system reliability and performance via CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management

• Engage in DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and containerization

• Support and evolve and industrial data interfaces

• Ensure regulatory and cybersecurity compliance for OT systems

• Maintain knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, TCP/IP)

Qualifications & Skills

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 5+ years’ experience in backend development (.NET/C#)

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and RESTful APIs

• Strong understanding of relational databases

• Familiarity with Linux/Windows and basic industrial systems

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with NoSQL databases

• Knowledge of industrial OT/ICS security and compliance

• Proficiency in containerization and infrastructure provisioning tools

• Knowledge of industrial protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC UA)
