About the role

Tom Wood is expanding and we’re now hiring a Retail Development Manager to lead the execution of new store projects and upgrades across key international markets. You will be responsible for managing projects from concept to completion including store openings, pop-ups, and refurbishments - ensuring that each project reflects our design identity, commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

The role combines project leadership with creative problem-solving, and requires a structured, hands-on mindset. You will work closely with teams across retail, operations, marketing, and PR to ensure all retail development projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on brand.

The role reports directly to our Retail Director and is based at our HQ in Oslo. 

Main responsibilities

• Lead and manage store openings, shop-in-shops, pop-ups, and refurbishment projects across global markets

• Oversee project coordination, including store layouts, interior elements, fixtures, materials sourcing and procurement

• Uphold and elevate Tom Wood`s identity, ensuring alignment with design, brand, and sustainability standards

• Drive innovation in retail formats, digital integrations and customer experience solutions

• Collaborate with retail and marketing on visual merchandising, window productions and campaign executions

• Manage project budgets, timelines and reporting for each project

• Foster strong cross departmental collaborations - aligning retail, operations, marketing, and PR to deliver seamless project execution

• Travel for site inspections and store openings (domestic and international)

• Proven project management skills and strong organisational abilities

• Solid experience in retail development, interior projects, or store construction

• Holds a keen eye for design and detail - able to balance aesthetics with functional needs

• Has strong planning, budgeting, and coordination skills

• Is confident working with cross-functional teams and external partners

• Has a curious, solution oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment

• Flexibility to travel internationally for project follow-up and openings
