About the position:

The proprietary and patented DAR Technology has been developed in close collaboration with our primary design and fabrication contractor, with Innowell’s CTO serving as the lead representative from our team.

This position will support the CTO and the broader Innowell team, ensuring the DAR design remains fully functional while advancing its development for new wells, applications, and environments. The role will also strengthen Innowell’s capabilities in continuously improving existing designs, creating innovative solutions for broader market needs, and contributing to qualification processes and project deliveries.

The successful candidate will be a key resource for application and completion, well intervention or drilling engineers by providing guidance on design criteria and limitations.

Key job responsibilities will include:

• Be fully up to date on the DAR Technology, i.e. design basis and design solutions

• Further develop and optimize design solutions

• Coordinate and carry out qualification and integration tests

• Carry out design development projects targeting new applications and downhole integration solutions

• Advise on manufacturing methods and processes

• Ensure that design documentation is updated and quality controlled

• Define supplier requirements and support the contracting process

• Carry out procurement activities

• Stay abreast of technological developments in downhole completion and operations

• Participate in developing strategies for the DAR Technology

• Take responsibility for Innowell’s design documentation

General about the ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate should be an experienced mechanical design engineer, with:

• profound knowledge of well technologies and the environment in which downhole tools are operating

Competencies:

• Higher education: minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Work experience: minimum 7-year experience in design and engineering of mechanical systems, machinery and components, preferably relating to the O&G industry

• Competencies of specific interest:

1. Must be proficient with and experienced in 3D modelling with CAD systems

2. Experience from and participation in manufacturing of downhole components, material/heat treatment, QA/QC, etc.

3. Experience and knowledge with drilling and well equipment design and operations

4. Experience with downhole tools and technologies are beneficial

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

• A network of peers with similar background is beneficial, where design issues and solutions can be discussed and elaborated on

Workplace:

• TBD, depends on candidate. Stavanger, Grenland, Oslo area

• The position requires some travelling

Reports to:

Reports directly to Company Lead Design Engineering / CTO

Salary:

Based on competency, experience and positive contribution
