Machine Learning/Computer Vision Engineer
At BioSort, we develop cutting-edge solutions that combine computer vision, machine learning, and biometrics to facilitate individualized treatment and monitoring of farmed fish. Our technology enhances fish welfare and sustainability while reducing production costs for fish farmers by real-time generation of fish-records for improved decision making.
Our goal is to build an integrated system for individualized, and selective fish treatment, generating real-time health records and insights for better decision-making.
We leverage a modern technology stack to power both edge and cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable and efficient performance. Our commitment to high-quality software development deployments are reflected in our practices, such as code reviews, testing, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
Having recently completed the iFarm project, we are now evolving key technologies into a simplified, next-generation product launching later this year. This is your chance to develop state-of-the-art computer vision and ML pipelines for fish identification, welfare monitoring and biomass estimation shaping the future of intelligent aquaculture.
Join Us on This Exciting Journey!
Are you passionate about AI-driven solutions and eager to solve real-world challenges in fish identification, welfare monitoring, and biomass estimation? If so, we’d love to have you on our team as a Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer!
What You’ll Do:
Develop and deploy machine learning and computer vision models for real-time fish identification using visible biometrics (e.g., facial recognition for fish).
Design deep learning and classical algorithms to detect sea lice, wounds, and other health and welfare indicators on fish.
Engineer solutions for accurately determining fish size and shape using multiview geometry and deep learning approaches.
Contribute to the development of multi-view, multi-object tracking algorithms to improve fish monitoring systems.
Optimize data pipelines and model deployment for efficient real-time performance on edge devices and cloud platforms.
Work closely with the software team to streamline data collection, model training, and inference workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
A Master’s or PhD in computer science, robotics, machine learning, mathematics, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
We welcome applications from both junior and senior candidates. If you're a recent graduate or early in your career, we encourage you to apply!
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset—you enjoy working in a team and sharing ideas.
Expertise in deep learning for images, including CNNs, Transformers, and techniques such as object detection, keypoint detection, instance segmentation, multi-object tracking, and multiview geometry.
Experience with machine learning and computer vision frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and scikit-learn.
Proficiency in Python (and preferably C++ for performance-critical components).
Experience working with data processing tools such as Pandas and NumPy.
Experience with MLOps, model optimization, or scalable machine learning solutions is highly desirable.
Ready to make a difference in sustainable fish farming? Apply now!
