Senior Engineers - Marine Design in Concepts & Studies

We are looking for Senior Marine Design Engineers to strengthen our Concepts & Studies department in Oslo. As a Senior Marine Design Engineer you will hold the responsibility for executing the marine design of the floaters in the teams. The marine design discipline is strengthened for work in multidiscipline teams within conceptual developments and Client studies.
About the position
The teams are engaged in concepts within one or more business segment in the company, including offshore wind, offshore and onshore oil and gas, hydrogen, aquaculture, and emerging segments. The engineers are competence holders in the respective disciplines in the conceptual and front-end design, supporting the projects with required engineering and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities and tasks include
- Responsible for marine design and analysis of competitive floating structure concepts from a concept selection to concept development phases in the Concepts and Studies department
- Be prepared to lead the discipline work in multiple design processes
- Be competence holder and give design input to the concept developments
- Develop and maintain Aibel’s marine design philosophies in collaboration with disciplines in all business segments
- Develop and maintain an overview of regulations and requirements from clients
- Interface and work with all stakeholders: clients, vendors, suppliers and certifying authority as required
- Support and assist Business Development on marine design engineering, method, and execution input
Qualifications
- Higher technical education (BSc / MSc / PhD)
- Preferably, experience within one or more of the business segments of Aibel: Offshore wind, oil and gas, aquaculture, hydrogen, CCUS
- 5-10 years+ experience
- Experience with conceptual development and design documentation and reporting
- Overview of Rules and Regulations within the applicable markets including international norms and regulations
- Commercial understanding and how technical development aligns with cost impact
- Experience with contracts and subcontracting
- Owns hands-on experiences on design and analysis of floating structure, time & frequency domains as well as stochastic analysis
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of offshore environmental load models
- Practical programing and scripting knowledge and experience with python, Java, Excel VBA
- Proficiency in SESAM Package, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex or SIMA

- Be a team player and be able to work independently and take lead in studies
- Good English skills, both oral and in writing
- High level of personal efficiency, ability to sort the work situation and produce deliverables in the form of decisions, recommendations, and necessary documentation
