We are looking for an experienced Lead Project Engineer - Tendering to join our team in our Oslo office. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the world’s largest current and upcoming Offshore Windfarm tenders and projects.
The Lead Project Engineer - Tendering will be responsible for the overall coordination of the multidisciplinary effort needed to establish proposals from the pre-qualification phase up to the negotiation phase prior to award.
Functionally the position reports to the Engineering Manager but will work closely with the Sales & Tendering Manager and the tendering team.
What you will be doing
- Initially the role will be to lead the engineering tender team in Oslo supporting our Sales & Marketing team for Cables and Foundations, with a view to later transition into a Lead engineering role in project execution.
- Determine the execution plan with the Tender Manager and the actions to be undertaken to achieve the goals of the commercial proposal.
- Define deliverables to be issued by all departments involved in Tender and ensure interfaces (Tendering, Engineering, SCM, Logistic, Operation, Fiscal, Legal and Commercial).
- Prepare technical method statements.
- Prepare or provide input to time schedules and cost estimates.
- Propose cost optimizations by modifying execution plan and commercial strategy.
- Ensure adherence to Seaway7’s tendering procedures on tenders.
- Interface with Tender Manager, all departments involved in the tender process and partners and Clients during negotiation phase.
- Maintain thorough records throughout the bidding process to ensure traceability and ultimately efficient handover to project teams.
- Cost Focus - Finding ways within each tender to maximise the profit for the company.
What you will bring to the team

- BEng / BSc or Meng / MSc in Civil / Mechanical / Marine Construction / Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
- Significant technical experience in Engineering or Operational Departments and experience in the associated commercial requirements (Contract/ SCM/ Tendering)
- Background in leading engineering packages in offshore wind or similar industries like offshore oil and gas.
- Good communication skills in English (verbal & written).
- Able to deliver within tight deadlines.
- Keen interest in the multi-discipline dimension (technology, execution, legal & contract, finance, commercial) of our projects
- Dedicated and thorough personality to ensure adherence to the Tendering procedures.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritise own and others’ workload, managing both time and change control effectively.
- Flexibility for other responsibilities & interfacing with other departments, where appropriate
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development and a desire to develop and mentor junior engineers.
