The position is based in Oslo (Nordic headoffice) and contributes to our company's success by providing professional HR leadership and support to Pitney Bowes employees and Managers in the region. We are looking for a person who can see across many areas and can understand the dynamics of our business and possess the financial acumen to assess and communicate how HR strategies impact the Company strategy.

The position is responsible for ensuring delivery of generalist HR support and advice to the line of businesses in the Nordics through the team of regionally based HR Team Members. Working in close liaison with the wider HR community, the position is responsible for the implementation of HR programmes and initiatives in the Nordic Region. The position has line management responsibility for a team of Regional HR Team members. The HR Director is a part of the Nordic management team and report into Vice President & Head of HR operations in Europe.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the alignment of the HR strategy in the region with the strategy of the overall Business
  • Contribute to increase  the company's productivity and profit advantage
  • Be a coach to the leaders to build capability regarding people management
  • Act as a business partner to management in implementing HR policies and corporate HR programs
  • Lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will develop and provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, continuous improvement, productivity and standards, goal attainment and the ongoing development of a superior workforce
  • Develop and implement change initiatives within the region to drive organizational alignment and effective human resource utilization 
  • Work closely with managers to identify required competency and performance levels, appropriate development and training programs.
  • Run and facilitate learning and development of managers on HR related topics
  • Projectleader for larger HR projects in the region
  • Drive employee engagement by: analyzing trends and developing country / LoB-specific engagement strategies; by ensuring appropriate employee value proposition
  • Manage employee relations across sites to enhance workforce performance and maintain a positive work environment
  • Partner with Centers Of Expertise as they develop, communicate and implement initiatives and programs including those related to compensation, benefits, talent management, legal and other programs applicable to the region
  • Travel in the region and to the UK is required

Education and experience:

  • Master of science in business or equivalent
  • 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the business management team that provides company leadership and direction, preferably in an international environment
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Norwegian
  • Preferably extensive experience from working in a multi-site, matrix organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and development of an HR team in a commercial organisation 500+ employees
