We are strengthening our brand building and marketing capabilities and seek a passionate and structured person to lead a newly established marketing department. We are looking for the combination of ability to articulate a vision, with the power to execute on it relentlessly. Your role will be overseeing the planning, development, and execution of WiMP's marketing activities, with a focus on evolving our brand and positioning and ensuring a coordinated WiMP profile across geographies, devices, web pages and all other channels. WiMP is still a start-up at heart, and the range of responsibilities and tasks will be thereafter.
The position will report directly to the CEO and be part of the management team. You will work closely with our Head of product development and our operating departments abroad.
WiMP is owned by the publicly listed company Aspiro AB (ASP:SS), and the largest owners are Schibsted, Ferd and Platekompaniet.
Key responsibilities
Evolve brand and product positioning
- continuous improvement of brand and product positioning (customer insight, competitor surveillance, trend monitoring etc.)
- communication of positioning to organisation, and tailoring to each geographical market
- ensure needed positioning impact on product and service development
Coordinate promotion and communication
- develop and communicate best practice guidelines for promotions, PR, social media etc. internationally
- assist and ensure quality and coherence of these activities in international operating departments, e.g. through global programmes
- directly manage WiMP's marketing operations in Norway
- manage and support continued development of WiMP's web pages
- ensure measurement and learning across the marketing function
Deliver the WiMP profile
- evolve and document graphical and verbal brand profile
- ensures needed templates etc. are available to international operating departments
- direct leadership of internal and external design resources
- hands on design and copywriting when needed
Experience and qualities (applicants should have most of these covered)
- Higher education
- "Zero budget" brand management experience
- Experience from the online services industry
- Experience from brand building through partnerships
- Experience with PR and social media strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in both written and spoken English, preferably also in a Scandinavian language
- An interest and understanding of music and technology
- An a eye for graphical design and copy
- Self starting
- Structured and detail oriented
- Ability to leverage other parts of the organization to complete tasks

The workplace will be our offices in Oslo, but some travel to support our other offices will be needed. Our primary working language is English, but some communication also happens in Norwegian.
