Institute of Energy Technology, IFE, has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral fellow.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our project focusing on advanced simulation and modeling techniques for CO2 storage and monitoring. The candidate will work through a structured research program designed to enhance their expertise in using IFE's IORSim software and to further develop computational models.
Job description
Develop IORSim specifically for modeling CO2 injection. This involves creating custom modules to simulate the injection dynamics of CO2 within subsurface geological formations. The aim is to improve the modeling capabilities of IORSim for CO2-injection processes, with the aim of optimizing injection strategies and understanding the immediate effects of CO2 dispersion
- Design and perform detailed experimental measurements at IFE.
- Explore methods to optimize data processing.
Qualification requirements
- Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in a field relevant for the project (e.g., Applied mathematics, Physics, Chemical or Reservoir Engineering).
- Good knowledge of multiphase flow.
- Experience with different programming languages.
- High-level oral and written English skills.
